Shreveport, LA — Severe thunderstorms are possible across the Four-State Region on Saturday, with large hail, damaging winds and an isolated tornado risk.
According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, storms may develop Saturday morning and continue into the evening across parts of northeast Texas, southwest Arkansas, northern Louisiana and southeast Oklahoma.
Forecasters say the highest risk area includes locations near and southeast of the Interstate 30 corridor, including parts of northeast Texas and southwest Arkansas.
Potential hazards listed by the National Weather Service include:
- Damaging wind gusts exceeding 60 mph
- Large hail up to quarter size or larger
- A brief tornado cannot be ruled out
The region is currently placed under a Level 2 out of 5 severe weather risk, meaning scattered severe storms are possible across the broader Four-State area.
Cities including Shreveport, Texarkana, Longview, Tyler and Natchitoches could experience periods of strong storms as the system moves through Saturday.
Officials advise residents to have multiple ways to receive severe weather warnings and remain weather aware throughout the day.
Strong thunderstorms could also lead to localized power outages, travel disruptions and fallen tree limbs, particularly where damaging wind gusts develop.
Students, weekend workers and travelers across the region may want to monitor weather alerts if outdoor plans or travel are scheduled Saturday.
