Shreveport, LA – A Heat Advisory remains in effect across much of Louisiana today, with temperatures expected to reach dangerous levels. The National Weather Service in Shreveport warns that the heat index will climb to between 105°F and 110°F, prompting the advisory for residents to take extra precautions.
According to the forecast, today’s high will reach around 97°F, with humidity pushing the “feels-like” temperature even higher. The advisory, which began at 10:00 AM, will remain in place until 8:00 PM CDT. The NWS advises residents to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, and stay in air-conditioned environments when possible. Special attention should be given to pets, ensuring they have access to water and shade.
The rest of the week will see little relief, with daily highs forecasted to stay in the low to mid-90s. Tuesday will see a slight drop to 93°F, but the temperature will remain oppressive throughout the day. Wednesday through Saturday will maintain similar conditions, with highs ranging from 92°F to 97°F.
