Shreveport, LA – A round of rainfall is returning to parts of Northeast Texas and North Central Louisiana on Wednesday, bringing cooler temperatures and potential travel delays across the region.
According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, the corridor of heaviest rainfall is expected to stretch from areas near Texarkana through Shreveport into northern parishes of Louisiana. The rain, which began early Wednesday, will be driven by a regional cold front moving across the South.
High temperatures will vary significantly depending on precipitation. Areas under persistent cloud cover and rainfall, including Mount Pleasant and Texarkana, may only see highs in the low 70s. Farther south, where skies remain clearer, temperatures could climb into the low to mid 80s, including cities such as Natchitoches and Lufkin.
Motorists should be prepared for slick roads during commutes, particularly along I-20 and U.S. Highway 79. Residents are advised to monitor weather updates, avoid flooded low-lying roads, and use caution when driving in heavy rain.
This weather pattern is expected to shift eastward by late Wednesday evening, bringing improving conditions overnight and into Thursday.
