Streator, IL – A woman was found with a life-threatening gunshot wound early Sunday morning after Streator police responded to a shooting in a residential area on South Illinois Street.
According to the Streator Police Department, officers were dispatched around 4:05 a.m. to the 500 block of S. Illinois St., where they located a woman inside a home suffering from a gunshot wound. Authorities stated the woman was initially transported to OSF Streator before being transferred to another facility for further treatment.
Officials have not released the identity of the victim, and the nature of the incident—whether domestic or otherwise—has not been clarified. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
The Streator Police Department Investigations Unit is being assisted by multiple agencies including the LaSalle County State’s Attorney’s Office, LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office, the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit, Streator Fire Department, and Streator Ambulance.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Streator Police Department to aid in the investigation. No suspects or persons of interest have been named as of Sunday afternoon.
