Memphis, TN – Rain chances are on the rise across the Mid-South as a slow-moving weather system brings widespread showers and isolated thunderstorms through Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service in Memphis.
Forecasters expect 1 to 2 inches of rainfall across much of the region, with the potential for locally higher totals within the Mississippi Delta. Multiple rounds of showers will persist from Sunday afternoon through early Tuesday, and a few rumbles of thunder are also possible.
While severe weather is not expected to be widespread, residents should remain cautious of minor flooding in low-lying or poor drainage areas, especially where heavier downpours occur.
Drivers are urged to avoid flooded roads and monitor updated forecasts as additional rainfall could impact morning and evening commutes.
