According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were called around 9:55 p.m. on Wednesday, November 29, to a crash with injuries near Houston Levee Road and Macon Road in Cordova. When deputies arrived, they found one vehicle in a ditch off the roadway while Shelby County Fire crews worked to save the driver.
Deputies identified the driver as 56-year-old Derrick Curtis. He was transported to Regional One in critical condition and later pronounced deceased.
