Memphis, TN – Shelby County deputies made significant arrests following a string of auto burglaries and a vehicle theft in Arlington’s Windsor Oak Subdivision. Officers found a stolen 2022 Ford F150 taken from a driveway, with additional burglaries confirmed nearby.
According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, detectives located the vehicle in the Estes and Cottonwood area of southeast Memphis. A search led to the arrest of Mardrakous Sugars, 33, who allegedly possessed firearms, including an AR-15 rifle, and controlled substances. Sugars faces charges of property theft valued between $10,000 and $60,000, firearm possession during a felony, and controlled substance possession.
During further investigation, detectives executed a search at a nearby Glenwick Drive residence, apprehending a 15-year-old male suspect. The teen, believed to be Sugars’ accomplice, faces charges of property theft and motor vehicle burglary.
Officers recovered additional stolen items connected to Arlington burglaries. Both suspects face potential further charges as the investigation unfolds. Shelby County authorities continue to pursue leads to address crime in the area.
