Grand Junction, CO — A shift in weather patterns is bringing drier air from the south into Colorado today, reducing the coverage of showers and storms across the region. However, areas along and north of the I-70 corridor, particularly in higher terrains, are expected to see an increased chance of thunderstorms and showers throughout the day.

According to the National Weather Service in Grand Junction, the primary threats from these storms include gusty winds exceeding 45 mph, frequent lightning, and brief periods of heavy rainfall. While temperatures are forecasted to remain a few degrees below normal, the threat of severe weather remains elevated, particularly for those traveling or residing in the higher elevation areas.

As the week progresses, the weather is expected to stabilize. Thursday through Saturday will see a return to warmer temperatures with highs reaching into the low to mid-90s. Despite a brief break in storm activity, residents should stay alert for any sudden changes, especially if they are planning outdoor activities.
