Shreveport, LA – A tornado warning is in effect for Natchitoches, Provencal, and Natchez until 2:45 PM CDT Monday.

According to the US National Weather Service in Shreveport, radar has indicated a tornado in the area. The warning affects nearly 30,000 residents, 13 schools, and two hospitals. Pea-sized hail is also possible. Residents are advised to take immediate safety precautions and monitor local weather updates.

The National Weather Service emphasizes that those in the warning area should seek shelter in a sturdy building, avoiding windows. If a basement is not available, residents should use an interior room on the lowest floor, such as a bathroom or closet. Motorists are advised not to seek shelter under highway overpasses, as these can be particularly dangerous during a tornado.
