New Mexico – Severe thunderstorms are forecast to hit Albuquerque and surrounding areas Monday afternoon, bringing with them the potential for damaging winds, hail, and heavy rainfall. The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a warning for strong storms across northern and western New Mexico early this week.
According to the National Weather Service, a few storms across northeast New Mexico on Monday afternoon and evening could become severe. These storms are expected to develop between 2 p.m. and 9 p.m. MDT, with northeast New Mexico at the highest risk. Weather conditions could bring hail, damaging winds, and isolated tornadoes.
