Salt Lake City, UT – Another round of afternoon and early evening showers and thunderstorms is expected to affect southern Utah today. The National Weather Service (NWS) Salt Lake City warns that the primary threats will be over the higher terrain, where storms could produce strong gusty winds, brief heavy rain, and frequent lightning.

According to the NWS, these conditions are expected to develop in the afternoon and continue into the evening. Residents are advised to be cautious, especially if they have outdoor plans. The stormy weather could create hazardous driving conditions and potential flash flooding in certain areas.

While the weather in Salt Lake City remains clear with a high of 98°F today, the outlook for the rest of the week indicates temperatures will stay high, with potential for hitting 100°F by midweek. Monday and Tuesday will see highs of 98°F and 99°F respectively, with sunny conditions prevailing. Wednesday is forecasted to be the hottest day, reaching 100°F.

As the week progresses, temperatures are expected to slightly decrease. Thursday may bring some relief with partly cloudy skies and a high of 91°F. The trend of slightly cooler weather will continue into the weekend, with highs ranging from 88°F on Saturday to 92°F on Sunday.
