Tallahassee, FL – A line of showers with embedded thunderstorms will bring severe weather to parts of the Southeast today. Storms may produce damaging wind gusts and an isolated tornado.

According to the National Weather Service in Tallahassee, storms will move east through the afternoon. Areas at risk include southeast Alabama, southwest Georgia, and the Florida Panhandle. The highest storm chances will occur between noon and 6 p.m. CST.

Forecasters expect the strongest storms to bring isolated wind gusts over 60 mph. A brief tornado cannot be ruled out. Storms will weaken by evening, with lingering rain possible overnight.

Residents should stay alert for weather updates and secure outdoor items before storms arrive. Have multiple ways to receive warnings, including weather apps and NOAA Weather Radio.

Authorities urge people in affected areas to remain indoors during storms and avoid unnecessary travel. If a tornado warning is issued, seek shelter in a sturdy building away from windows.

The severe weather threat remains low overall, but conditions can change quickly. Stay prepared and monitor forecasts for updates.
