Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued for Southwest and Central Montana

Bozeman, MT – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for southwest and central Montana, effective from 3:35 PM MDT to 8:00 PM MDT Sunday.

According to the NWS Storm Prediction Center, thunderstorms are expected to develop in southwest Montana, moving east-northeast into central Montana late this afternoon and evening. These storms could produce damaging winds up to 75 mph and hail up to 2 inches in diameter.

Residents are advised to stay alert for severe weather conditions and heed any warnings. Severe thunderstorms may occasionally produce tornadoes.
