Shreveport, LA – The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for parts of Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. The advisory remains in effect until 12 p.m. Saturday.

The watch includes major cities such as Dallas, Sherman, and Texarkana. The storm system brings the potential for hail up to two inches in diameter, wind gusts reaching 60 mph, and frequent lightning. According to the National Weather Service, scattered storms could affect a population of over nine million, including 2,715 schools and 175 hospitals.

Meteorologists warn that the storms may cause property damage and power outages. Residents are advised to secure outdoor items, stay indoors during the storms, and monitor local updates. Emergency preparedness officials urge caution, especially for drivers and those in vulnerable structures.
