Eastern Colorado – The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for parts of eastern Colorado, western and central Kansas, and southwest Nebraska. This watch is effective from 2:25 PM CDT until 10:00 PM CDT today.
According to the NWS, thunderstorms are expected to develop and intensify through the afternoon and evening. These storms pose significant risks, including large hail with diameters up to 2 inches and severe wind gusts ranging from 60 to 75 mph. By evening, a linear thunderstorm cluster is anticipated to form, increasing the risk of widespread damaging winds.
