Huntsville, AL – A severe thunderstorm is impacting northeastern Jackson County, AL, and southeastern Franklin County, TN, with ping pong ball-sized hail and wind gusts up to 60 mph. The storm is moving east at 25 mph, and authorities are warning residents to take precautions.

According to the National Weather Service, the warning remains in effect until 3:45 PM CDT today, April 10, 2025. Locations like Bridgeport, Decherd, Winchester, and Cowan are among those affected by the storm’s path. The storm’s intense winds and hail may cause damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles, and outdoor animals and people are at risk for injury.

In addition to hail and strong winds, heavy rainfall is causing flash flooding in certain areas, with drivers urged to avoid flooded roadways. People are advised to move to interior rooms on the lowest floors of their homes for safety.
