Tulsa, OK – Eastern Oklahoma braces for severe thunderstorms today, as the National Weather Service has issued multiple alerts for the region. Storms are expected to develop early this morning and sweep eastward, with Tulsa and surrounding areas facing the most likely severe weather threat between 5 a.m. and 10 a.m.

According to the National Weather Service, residents in the area should prepare for strong winds, large hail, and a tornado risk. Hail up to golf-ball size is possible, and wind speeds may reach 80 mph in some areas. The severe threat is expected to diminish by noon for the northern part of the state and by 3 p.m. in the southern regions, though additional storms could develop into the night.

Localized flooding and continued storm activity could lead to challenges throughout the day. The stormy conditions will persist into the evening and through Wednesday, with a heightened risk of severe weather extending into the weekend.

Residents are urged to stay updated through local alerts and take appropriate precautions as storm conditions progress throughout the day.
