Seattle, Wash. – Showers will soak the Seattle metro overnight into Sunday morning, bringing slick roads and reduced visibility across King County before skies turn sunny to start the workweek.
According to the National Weather Service in Seattle, rainfall is expected to pick up after 4 a.m. Sunday with patchy fog lingering into late morning. South winds of 6 to 10 mph will add to difficult driving conditions. Rainfall amounts should remain light, but wet pavement and low clouds could slow morning commutes.
By Sunday afternoon, rain chances taper off, with partly cloudy skies returning in the evening. Eastern King County communities, including Bellevue and Issaquah, may see longer-lasting showers, while western neighborhoods near Puget Sound clear sooner.
Monday marks a shift to drier conditions, with sunny skies and highs near 68 degrees. That warming trend continues Tuesday, when highs climb to the low 80s—nearly 15 degrees above average for mid-September.
Residents are urged to use caution during early Sunday travel, particularly on I-5 and I-90, where fog and damp pavement may cause slowdowns.
More showers could return midweek, but sunshine will dominate through Tuesday.
