Seattle, WA – Seattle, Everett, and communities across the Puget Sound will continue to swelter as a heat advisory remains in effect until 10 p.m. Wednesday, with daytime highs expected to reach the upper 80s and mid 90s.

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory covers a wide stretch of northwest and west central Washington—including King, Snohomish, Pierce, and Thurston counties—with temperatures peaking Wednesday afternoon. Overnight lows will offer little relief, staying in the low to mid 60s.

City centers such as Seattle, Tacoma, Bellevue, and Olympia are all expected to see increased risk of heat-related illnesses, especially for those without air conditioning or adequate hydration. Neighborhoods in Everett, Lynnwood, Bellingham, and Federal Way should take precautions as high humidity and heat linger.

Health officials recommend drinking plenty of water, checking on elderly neighbors, and limiting outdoor activities to the morning or evening. Residents are urged never to leave children or pets in vehicles, and to use fans or air conditioning if possible. Outdoor workers should schedule frequent rest breaks in shade and wear lightweight clothing.

The heat advisory may be extended or upgraded if high temperatures persist into Thursday. Stay tuned for further updates and consider visiting local cooling centers if your home becomes too warm.
