Seattle, WA – Multiple Wind Advisories are in effect across Western Washington today as gusty winds sweep through the coast and inland areas from the Olympic Peninsula to the San Juan Islands.

According to the National Weather Service in Seattle, south to southeast winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph are expected through 9 p.m. Tuesday along the coast and from 2 p.m. to midnight inland, affecting Grays Harbor, Island, San Juan, and Whatcom Counties.

Communities under the advisory include Ocean Shores, Port Townsend, Friday Harbor, Bellingham, and Langley. The NWS warns that gusty winds may knock down small tree limbs, scatter unsecured objects, and cause isolated power outages in coastal and island areas.

The strongest winds are expected late Tuesday afternoon through this evening, especially along highway corridors and exposed coastal zones. Drivers of high-profile vehicles should use extra caution, particularly on bridges and causeways connecting island communities.

Winds will gradually diminish after midnight as the front moves east into the Cascades.
