Scott County, IA: Driver in Custody After Sideswiping Deputy’s Patrol Car Sunday Night

Davenport, IA – A driver was taken into custody after sideswiping a Scott County Sheriff’s Deputy’s vehicle during a traffic stop late Sunday night, according to a release from the Scott County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident occurred around 10:40 p.m. on October 26, 2025, in the 6300 block of Welcome Way. Deputies said a white Cadillac XTS struck the deputy’s patrol car, clipping the driver-side mirror while the officer was conducting a routine traffic stop.

Another deputy on scene was able to quickly relocate the Cadillac and pull it over. The driver was taken into custody without incident, officials confirmed.

No injuries were reported in the crash. The Iowa State Patrol responded to assist and is leading the investigation.

Authorities have not yet released additional details regarding the driver or potential charges.
