Scott County, IA – A Bettendorf man was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident Thursday evening in Scott County. The incident occurred around 7:29 PM at the intersection of 115th Avenue and New Liberty Road.
According to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, a 2003 Harley Davidson was traveling south on 115th Avenue when the driver lost control of the motorcycle, causing it to skid along the road. The operator, a 46-year-old male from Bettendorf, was not wearing a helmet at the time and was thrown from the motorcycle.
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, assisted by Scott Emergency Communications Center, Maysville Fire Department, Scott County Medic EMS, and MedForce. The injured man was transported by MedForce to the University of Iowa Hospitals for treatment. As of this release, his condition is unknown.
The accident remains under investigation by the Scott County Sheriff’s Accident Investigation Unit. The Sheriff’s Office emphasized the importance of helmet use, noting the severity of the injuries sustained in this incident.
