Kankakee Community College (KCC) has announced that the application period for its Foundation scholarship for the 2023-2024 academic year is open.

The scholarship application portal is open from October 1st, 2022 to May 1st, 2023, and students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. The scholarships are available to all KCC students and are collectively worth over $200,000 in total.

The application process requires just one form to be completed for all scholarships, with recipients being notified via email of their success on May 15th, 2023. To be eligible, scholarship recipients must be enrolled at KCC for the 2023-24 academic year.

The KCC Foundation scholarship program has 168 scholarships available, with specific requirements for each scholarship listed on the KCC website. The scholarships range from $250 to $1,200, and specific criteria include GPA, part-time or full-time status, financial need, and other special requirements.

One scholarship, for example, is the Ed Munday Scholarship, a celebration of the legendary local news radio broadcaster, worth $1,000 and requires applicants to have a minimum GPA of 2.5, be majoring in or pursuing a career in Communications, and have a demonstrated financial need.

The KCC Foundation provides students with financial assistance to help them achieve their educational goals. The foundation also supports KCC students in a variety of ways, including providing funding for student activities, sponsoring faculty development programs, and providing capital support for the college.
