Schererville, IN – Police are asking for the public’s help to locate Shamarian Unbare Scott Haywood, 19, of Gary, Indiana. Haywood is wanted in connection with a November 30 shooting on Morningside Drive that left an 18-year-old man critically injured.
Officers responded to the 2600 block of Morningside Drive after reports of a firearm assault. The victim was transported to a local hospital and later transferred to a Chicago trauma center.
Investigators identified Haywood as the suspect. On December 3, the Lake County Prosecutor charged him with attempted murder and several other felonies. Despite extensive efforts, police have not located Haywood.
