DuPage County, IL – Authorities have issued a warning to residents after numerous reports of scammers posing as affiliates of the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office. These impersonators are contacting citizens to solicit money or political endorsements, claiming to represent the sheriff’s office.

According to the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office, these individuals are not affiliated with the department and have no connection to public safety in DuPage County. The department stresses that it will never ask citizens for financial contributions or political commitments.

“We are a professional organization that would never be involved in this type of behavior. Don’t be fooled by these police impersonators, and as always, report anything that you think might be a crime,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

Residents are urged to be cautious and report any suspicious activity that may resemble these scams. The sheriff’s office advises that anyone contacted in this manner should verify the legitimacy of the source before responding.
