Sarasota County, FL – A joint law enforcement operation in Sarasota County has led to the shutdown of an alleged illegal gambling business in North Port, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office.

On November 4, deputies from the SCSO Intelligence Unit, along with the Florida Gaming Control Commission, TAC Unit, and Patrol Unit, executed a search warrant at Headquarters Social, located at 12749 S. Tamiami Trail.

According to the sheriff’s office, investigators seized 58 illegal slot machines and an undisclosed amount of cash during the search. One suspect, identified as Alex Jacobs (DOB: 04/09/1986), was arrested and charged with Maintaining a Gambling House and Possession of Slot Machines.

Authorities say the operation was part of an ongoing effort to curb illegal gaming activity in Sarasota County. “Great teamwork to shut down another illegal gambling business in our community,” the agency said in a public statement.

The investigation remains active as law enforcement works to identify others possibly connected to the operation.
