Sarasota, FL – The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office has launched its 9th Annual Holiday Toy Drive, a seasonal effort benefiting several local nonprofits including the Florida Statewide Guardian ad Litem Office (GAL), Teen Court of Sarasota, and All Star Children’s Foundation.
According to the sheriff’s office, the drive begins Monday, December 1, and runs through Monday, December 15. Residents are encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys and gift cards to help children in foster care and at-risk youth across Sarasota, Manatee, and DeSoto counties. Donations can be delivered to the sheriff’s headquarters at 6010 Cattleridge Boulevard in Sarasota or the South County Office in Venice.
Launched in 2017, the initiative has grown into a signature holiday project for the community. Sheriff Kurt A. Hoffman said the generosity shown each year “reflects the spirit of caring and connection that makes our county special.” The drive supports children from newborn to 18 years old, though clothing and stuffed animals cannot be accepted.
In addition to local drop-offs, residents can donate through the agency’s Amazon Wishlist. This year’s collection tree is provided by Sarasota Memorial Hospital’s Public Safety Department.
