Hoffman Estates, IL – Hoffman Estates will launch its holiday season with the annual Friendship Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 5 p.m. The celebration will take place at Village Hall, 1900 Hassell Road, drawing community members of all ages for a night of festive fun.

Mayor Bill McLeod and Village Trustees will join Boy Scouts from Cub Scout Packs 297 and 100 to officially light the tree, marking the start of a fireworks display. Following the fireworks, Santa Claus will arrive by fire truck to greet children and families, bringing extra holiday cheer to the event. Attendees can enjoy light refreshments and warm up indoors after Santa’s arrival, as Village Hall will open its doors to guests.

The Friendship Tree, a large, living pine, is decorated each year with thousands of lights and over 700 red bows. This growing tree symbolizes the community’s commitment to friendship and environmental responsibility, remaining illuminated throughout the winter.

The event also serves a charitable purpose. Non-perishable food and personal care items will be collected for local food pantries. With crowds expected, attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure a good view. Visit hoffmanestates.org for more details or call 847-781-2606.
