Bellingham, WA – Residents across northwest Washington should prepare for blustery conditions through early Monday afternoon, with gusts strong enough to cause minor outages and travel issues.

According to the National Weather Service in Seattle, a Wind Advisory remains in effect until 2 p.m. PDT Monday for San Juan County and the lowlands of western Whatcom County, including Friday Harbor and Bellingham.

Forecasters expect northeast winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 45 mph. The gusty conditions could knock down small tree limbs, scatter unsecured outdoor items, and cause isolated power outages. Drivers of high-profile vehicles should use extra caution, especially on open or elevated roadways.

The winds are expected to gradually ease later this afternoon as the weather system moves out of the area. Residents are advised to secure outdoor objects and remain alert for falling debris or sudden wind gusts.
