San Francisco, California – A prolonged stretch of hot weather is expected across the Bay Area and Central Coast this week as the National Weather Service issues a Heat Advisory from Monday morning through Friday evening.
Forecasters say temperatures will climb into the upper 80s to mid-90s across inland areas, including Santa Rosa, Concord, Livermore, and San Jose, while coastal communities such as San Francisco, Santa Cruz, and Monterey will see highs mainly in the 80s.
The advisory will be in effect from 10 a.m. Monday until 8 p.m. Friday, marking several consecutive days of elevated temperatures across the region.
Meteorologists say the area will experience Moderate HeatRisk (Level 2 of 4), which can increase the chances of heat-related illness for sensitive groups such as older adults, infants, outdoor workers, and people without effective cooling.
Health officials recommend residents drink plenty of water, take frequent breaks in shaded or air-conditioned areas, and avoid strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day.
Officials also stress never leaving children or pets in parked vehicles, even for short periods, as temperatures inside vehicles can rise rapidly.
The extended warm pattern is expected to persist through the end of the workweek before temperatures gradually moderate next weekend.
