San Francisco, CA – A High Wind Warning is in effect for the San Francisco Peninsula, Marin County, and Point Reyes National Seashore from 10 p.m. Wednesday through 10 a.m. Thursday, with forecasters warning of potentially damaging gusts and widespread power outages overnight.

According to the National Weather Service in San Francisco, south winds between 25 and 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph are expected across coastal hills and higher elevations, including areas on the Pacific side of San Francisco and throughout the Marin Coastal Range.

The storm could down trees and power lines, leading to property damage and power outages across the Bay Area. Officials also warn that travel could be extremely hazardous, especially for high-profile vehicles such as trucks and RVs on coastal and elevated routes.

Residents are urged to secure loose outdoor objects and avoid unnecessary travel during the peak of the wind event. Power crews and emergency services are preparing for potential outages and debris impacts through Thursday morning.

This system marks one of the strongest coastal wind events so far this fall, signaling a shift toward a more active weather pattern for the Bay Area heading into mid-November.
