San Francisco, CA – Powerful winds are forecast to batter parts of the San Francisco Bay Area through Wednesday, as the National Weather Service continues a High Wind Warning for the Marin Coastal Range and North Bay coast, including Point Reyes National Seashore.

According to the NWS San Francisco, south winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph are expected through 4 p.m. Wednesday, with isolated gusts up to 65 mph possible along ridgetops and exposed coastal areas during the morning hours.

Officials warn that the storm may cause widespread power outages, fallen trees, and hazardous driving conditions, particularly for high-profile vehicles traveling along Highway 1, U.S. 101, and coastal routes.

Residents are urged to secure outdoor objects, avoid wooded areas, and remain indoors during the strongest gusts. The NWS cautions that falling debris and power lines pose additional risks.

Winds are expected to diminish by late Wednesday afternoon, though cleanup and power restoration efforts could continue into the evening.
