San Francisco, California – Inland Bay Area residents face unseasonably warm temperatures peaking Tuesday afternoon, with highs pushing into the mid-80s and increasing heat stress during peak daytime hours.

According to the National Weather Service in San Francisco, temperatures across the region are running 5 to 20 degrees above normal and will remain elevated through the weekend. Tuesday marks the warmest day for many inland cities, including Hollister at 86°F, Concord and Livermore near 83°F, and San Jose reaching the low 80s. Coastal areas like San Francisco stay cooler but still mild in the low 70s.

The extended warmth brings a Minor HeatRisk designation across much of the Bay Area, especially impacting sensitive groups without access to cooling or hydration. Areas such as Santa Rosa, Napa, and inland East Bay communities will see persistent daytime highs in the upper 70s to low 80s through Sunday.

Residents are urged to limit strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day, wear sunscreen, and stay hydrated. Urban areas may retain heat into the evening, offering little overnight relief inland.

A pattern shift begins by Monday into Tuesday as cooler marine air returns, bringing temperatures back closer to seasonal norms. Additional updates are expected if heat risk levels increase.
