San Francisco, Calif. – Residents across the Bay Area may see spotty showers and even a few rumbles of thunder Thursday before sunshine and calmer weather return heading into the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service, showers are possible after 11 a.m. Thursday with a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening. Conditions will remain mostly cloudy with highs near 72 degrees and southwest winds up to 10 mph. Another round of showers could linger into Thursday night, though skies are expected to gradually clear.
By Friday, the Bay Area transitions back to sunshine, with San Francisco highs climbing to the low 70s and light afternoon breezes. Saturday and Sunday both look clear and seasonable, with highs in the mid-70s and nighttime lows around 60.
Drivers should prepare for slick pavement Thursday, especially during the evening commute, as spotty downpours may reduce visibility. NWS advises limiting outdoor plans during thunderstorms and staying alert to shifting conditions.
