SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Bay Area residents could see scattered showers on Wednesday before a stretch of dry, sunny weather settles in for the rest of the week. Winds may pick up slightly with gusts near 20 mph by Wednesday evening, adding to travel and outdoor event concerns.

According to the National Weather Service in Monterey, showers and isolated thunderstorms may develop late Wednesday morning into the afternoon, with the best chance for rain between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Light rainfall amounts are expected, though higher totals are possible in isolated spots.

By Wednesday night, lingering showers could continue until around 2 a.m. before skies begin clearing. Winds will shift from southwest to west at 10 to 20 mph, keeping evening temperatures in the low 60s. Conditions improve significantly on Thursday, with mostly sunny skies and highs near 72 degrees.

Friday and Saturday will stay warm and dry across the Bay Area, with highs in the low to mid-70s in San Francisco and even warmer temperatures inland. Drivers should remain cautious during Wednesday’s showers, especially during the evening commute when slick roads may develop.

The National Weather Service says rain chances return early next week, but the weekend looks clear for outdoor plans.
