San Francisco, California – Memorial Day across the Bay Area will start gray and stay cool for many, especially along the coast where low clouds are expected to linger through Monday.

According to the National Weather Service in San Francisco, inland areas may see some afternoon sunshine, but temperatures will remain below seasonal averages. Coastal and bayside communities will hover between 57° and 71°, while inland valleys could reach highs of 83°.

Residents visiting beaches or participating in outdoor ceremonies near the coast should dress in layers and prepare for overcast skies and breezy conditions. Cities like San Francisco, Daly City, and Half Moon Bay are unlikely to see much sun until late afternoon, if at all.

Farther inland, areas like Concord, San Jose, and Livermore could enjoy clearer skies by mid-day, but cooler-than-normal highs mean it won’t feel like typical Memorial Day warmth. Morning cloud cover will be dense in many locations before retreating to the coast.

While no severe weather is expected, the cooler pattern may persist into Tuesday. For real-time updates, residents can check weather.gov/bayarea.
