San Francisco, California – A noticeable warmup is taking hold across San Francisco and the Bay Area, bringing several days of above-normal temperatures and mostly sunny skies that will extend through the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service Bay Area office, high temperatures are expected to run 10 to 15 degrees above average through late week, with the warmest conditions developing across inland valleys and the Central Coast. Afternoon highs in San Francisco are forecast to climb into the mid to upper 60s, while inland locations such as San Jose, Concord, and Livermore reach the upper 60s to mid-70s.
Light and occasionally variable winds will dominate much of the region, generally staying under 20 mph, though locally stronger offshore breezes are possible at higher elevations. Morning fog and patchy mist may linger in interior valleys early each day before giving way to sunshine by late morning.
While the warmer weather offers ideal conditions for outdoor plans, beachgoers are urged to remain cautious. The National Weather Service warns that rip currents and sneaker waves remain a concern along the coast, even under sunny skies. Ocean conditions can change quickly, creating dangerous situations near the shoreline.
Residents are encouraged to stay hydrated, use sun protection during peak afternoon hours, and check beach conditions before heading to the coast. The warming trend is expected to persist through the weekend, with temperatures remaining above normal and no significant storms on the immediate horizon.
