California – Waves crash against the Embarcadero seawall this morning as another round of high tides and minor coastal flooding grips the San Francisco Bay Area. Commuters near the waterfront should plan for ponding water and slippery sidewalks through the early afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service Bay Area, a Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 3 p.m. Sunday, impacting low-lying coastal zones, including San Francisco, Marin, Alameda, and San Mateo Counties. During morning high tides, minor flooding could occur along Highway 101, Embarcadero, and near Marina Green, where water levels may briefly rise above typical tide lines.

While inland skies remain mostly sunny and mild—highs near 60–63°F through Friday—the combination of king tides and seasonal patterns continues to push water levels higher than normal. Residents near the coast are encouraged to avoid driving through flooded streets and secure waterfront property or equipment that could be affected by the surge.

Meteorologists expect clear skies to continue into early next week, with dry air and gentle northeast winds maintaining visibility and warmth across the Bay. Despite the calm, the coast remains vulnerable to another round of tidal flooding during the upcoming December 7–9 tide cycle.

Five-Day Outlook (San Francisco, CA):

  • Today: Mostly sunny, high 63°F.
  • Thursday: Sunny, high 60°F.
  • Friday: Partly cloudy, high 61°F.
  • Saturday: Mostly sunny, high 62°F.
  • Sunday: Partly sunny, high 63°F.
