San Francisco, Calif. – The Bay Area will see a series of light rain chances beginning Monday morning and continuing through Thursday evening, with the most widespread showers expected Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service in Monterey, rainfall probabilities climb above 40% in Santa Rosa by late Monday morning before spreading across Oakland, San Francisco, and San Jose by Tuesday midday. The highest rain chances for much of the region occur Tuesday afternoon, when Oakland and San Francisco both top 40%.

Commuters should anticipate slick roadways during the Tuesday morning and evening rush, especially along Highway 101 and I-880 corridors. Santa Rosa may experience the earliest wet conditions Monday, while San Jose will likely see steadier rain develop later Tuesday.

Rain chances ease by early Wednesday, though scattered light showers could persist into Thursday. No flooding concerns are expected, but residents are advised to allow extra travel time, check wiper blades, and drive cautiously on wet pavement.

Showers diminish by late Thursday, with drier conditions likely heading into next weekend.
