Bay Area, CA – A frost advisory is in effect for the San Francisco Bay Area and Monterey regions from midnight through 9 a.m. Sunday, as temperatures are expected to dip as low as 31°F in some areas, potentially colder at higher elevations.
According to the National Weather Service, the advisory includes the North Bay Interior, Eastern Santa Clara Hills, East Bay Hills, Southern Salinas Valley, Santa Lucia Mountains, Los Padres National Forest, and the Mountains of San Benito County. Interior areas of Monterey County, including Pinnacles National Park, are also affected.
Residents are urged to take precautions as the cold weather may pose hazards to unhoused individuals and damage sensitive vegetation. Experts recommend covering outdoor plants and ensuring pets are sheltered.
This advisory highlights the need for extra care during overnight hours when frost formation is most likely.
