San Francisco, CA – The National Weather Service in the San Francisco Bay Area has issued a Dense Fog Advisory for parts of the North Bay and East Bay Interior Valleys, where visibility may drop below ¼ mile through 11 AM Tuesday.
The fog, which expanded overnight, will significantly reduce visibility along portions of Highways 101, I-80, and I-580, making morning commutes and early holiday travel especially hazardous.
Motorists are urged to slow down, use low-beam headlights, and leave extra space between vehicles. The NWS advises against using high beams, which can worsen glare in dense fog.
Visibility is expected to gradually improve by late Tuesday morning as fog lifts and drier air mixes in.
