San Francisco, CA – The National Weather Service San Francisco Bay Area/Monterey has issued a High Wind Warning for the North Bay Coast and Marin Hills, with Wind Advisories expanded to include much of the Bay Area and Central Coast. The alerts are in effect from 10 p.m. Wednesday, November 12, through 10 a.m. Thursday, November 13.
Forecasters say southerly winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 60 mph are possible in elevated and coastal areas, while other parts of the Bay Area can expect gusts up to 50 mph. These strong winds could down trees, snap power lines, and cause localized power outages.
The NWS urges residents to secure outdoor furniture, trash bins, and decorations that could be blown away. Drivers—especially those operating high-profile vehicles—should use extra caution on bridges and open highways.
The strongest gusts are expected late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning before gradually subsiding.
