San Diego, Calif. – Drivers across San Diego County could face reduced visibility each morning through early next week as patchy fog lingers before clearing to sunny skies. The National Weather Service warns of slower commutes, especially along coastal routes and freeways before 11 a.m. each day.

According to the National Weather Service in San Diego, the fog will develop overnight and persist through the morning hours, most notably from Chula Vista to Oceanside. Afternoon highs are expected to climb into the low 80s under mostly sunny skies, with light winds shifting west at 5 to 10 mph.

While the fog is not expected to be widespread enough for formal advisories, motorists are urged to use headlights, reduce speed, and allow extra travel time. Those traveling near the I-5 and I-805 corridors should be especially cautious before midmorning.

Conditions will remain steady through Monday, with little day-to-day change. Morning fog returns nightly after 11 p.m., followed by clear and warm afternoons, making for typical late-summer weather in Southern California.

Foggy mornings are likely to continue into early next week, with additional advisories possible if visibility worsens.
