San Diego, Calif. – Drivers heading into the weekend should prepare for patchy fog rolling across San Diego County overnight and into early mornings, with visibility reduced on major roadways including Interstate 5. Those traveling late Friday or early Saturday should use caution, as damp road surfaces and limited sightlines may affect commutes and weekend activities.

According to the National Weather Service, patchy fog is expected each night through Monday morning, lifting by late morning to reveal mostly sunny afternoons. Highs will range from the upper 70s Saturday to the low 80s Sunday, creating comfortable conditions once the fog clears.

The cooler, damp mornings may affect outdoor events, including high school football games and early morning weekend plans. Sunday will bring the warmest conditions of the stretch, with highs near 81 and mostly clear skies in the afternoon. Residents should plan around morning slowdowns and expect fog to return late each night.

While no major hazards are expected beyond reduced visibility, drivers should allow extra time when traveling before 10 a.m., especially along coastal routes. By Monday, increasing cloud cover will lead into a cooler trend, with highs falling back into the mid-70s by midweek.

Conditions will remain relatively stable, but the persistence of fog means coastal residents should stay alert for possible advisories if visibility worsens.
