San Diego, CA – Commuters and coastal residents should expect patchy fog overnight and into the morning hours this week, with sunshine returning by midday, according to the National Weather Service.

On Thursday, patchy fog is forecast before 11 a.m., followed by mostly sunny skies and a high near 75 degrees. Winds from the northwest could reach up to 20 mph in gusts. Overnight lows will dip into the low 60s, keeping evenings cooler than average for early October.

Friday brings increasing clouds in the morning before conditions turn sunny with highs near 74. Evening skies will remain partly cloudy with lows in the low 60s. The weekend outlook calls for mostly sunny skies, with daytime highs in the mid-70s and nighttime lows around 61.

Looking ahead, early next week will continue the trend of mild fall weather. Monday and Tuesday are expected to stay mostly sunny with highs in the low 70s. By Wednesday, conditions remain steady with highs near 74.

The combination of morning fog and afternoon sun could create challenging driving conditions for commuters along coastal routes, especially during the early morning hours. Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time and use caution in areas where visibility is reduced.
