San Diego, CA – Valentine’s Day plans could be dampened as rain and thunderstorms continue Friday before skies clear for a sunny weekend. Heavy rainfall and strong winds will persist through Friday morning, making for a wet commute and potential flooding in low-lying areas.
According to the National Weather Service, showers will taper off by Friday night, with temperatures reaching 60°F during the day before dropping to 49°F overnight. Winds will shift westward at 5-15 mph, gradually calming as the system moves out.
By Saturday, sunny skies return with a high near 64°F, and winds remain light at 5-10 mph. Sunday will be slightly warmer at 67°F with partly sunny conditions, making it a perfect day for outdoor activities.
Residents should remain cautious on wet roads Friday and allow extra time for travel. Weekend plans, however, should be smooth with improving weather.
