California’s coastal haze is clinging to parts of San Diego this morning, softening the skyline and leaving a light sheen on some roads. Visibility improves quickly after sunrise, and brighter skies are already pushing inland. Temperatures are climbing through the upper 50s and will reach near 69 degrees later today.
According to the National Weather Service, patchy fog lingers before 10 a.m., then partial sunshine takes over with highs near 69. Light west winds increase to 5 to 10 mph, with occasional gusts up to 20 mph. Drivers along I-5 and I-8 should allow extra space early, especially where fog briefly thickens near the coast.
Tuesday continues the March spring tease. Patchy fog redevelops before midmorning, then skies turn mostly sunny with highs around 71. By Wednesday, a similar pattern holds with afternoon readings near 70 and light winds.
The warming trend strengthens late week. Thursday reaches near 71 under mostly sunny skies. Friday climbs to 73, and inland neighborhoods could push the mid-70s by Saturday. Cool mornings in the lower 50s will still feel crisp, but afternoons deliver steady spring warmth.
Daylight is increasing rapidly now. We gain more than an hour of sunlight this month, and clocks spring ahead at 2 a.m. Sunday, March 8. That shift often makes the warm spell feel even stronger.
Long-range guidance in the 6–10 day outlook favors above-normal temperatures across much of California. Spring vibes are building into next week. Are you noticing the longer evenings yet?
