California – Low gray clouds hang over San Diego’s coastline this morning as patchy drizzle dampens sidewalks and early commuters move through misty air. The marine layer lingers across downtown and the harbor, but clearing skies are already developing inland.

According to the National Weather Service in San Diego, patchy drizzle and fog will continue through the morning hours before gradual clearing begins. Temperatures rise to around 70°F this afternoon, bringing a comfortable and mild March day across coastal San Diego County.

Visibility may briefly dip in low clouds early, especially along Interstate 5, Interstate 8, and Highway 163 during the morning commute. Drivers should expect damp pavement and reduced visibility until the marine layer lifts.

By afternoon, sunshine spreads across much of the metro area from La Jolla to Chula Vista. Light northwest winds develop, helping push lingering coastal clouds offshore.

Clear skies settle in tonight with temperatures falling near 50°F. Inland valleys cool quickly after sunset, while coastal areas remain slightly milder near the water.

Warmer weather builds heading into the weekend. Friday brings bright sunshine and highs near 74°F, continuing a steady warming trend across Southern California.

Saturday turns even warmer with temperatures reaching about 79°F under sunny skies. Beaches, parks, and outdoor spaces should see excellent weather across San Diego County.

Sunday becomes the warmest day of the stretch with highs climbing near 81°F. Early Sunday morning also marks the nationwide Daylight Saving Time shift, when clocks jump ahead one hour at 2 a.m., bringing longer daylight into the evening hours.

Early next week remains mild with highs near 72°F Monday before slightly cooler air arrives by midweek.
