Austin, Texas – Warm July nights will blanket Central Texas as clouds increase this evening, holding overnight lows steady in the mid-70s from Austin to San Antonio and across the Hill Country.
According to the National Weather Service in Austin-San Antonio, skies will trend from partly cloudy this evening to mostly cloudy by early Tuesday, with south to southeast winds of 5 to 15 mph. Overnight lows will dip only slightly, remaining warmer than average for late July—expect 74°F to 77°F in most cities, including New Braunfels, Kerrville, and Georgetown.
Drivers on I-35 and US-281 will see few travel impacts tonight, though limited moonlight and thickening clouds could affect rural visibility. Utilities report normal operations; no outages are anticipated. Locals are advised to keep cooling systems running and stay hydrated, as daytime highs will again approach 100°F by midweek.
Rain chances remain low through Friday, but spotty showers could return to the Coastal Plains and possibly the I-35 corridor as early as Saturday. This marks a seasonably hot stretch, similar to late July patterns seen in recent years.
The next update will be issued by the National Weather Service Tuesday morning. Rain and cooler temperatures are possible this weekend—residents should check for updated advisories as the week continues.
