San Antonio, TX – South-Central Texas is gearing up for a wave of extreme heat, with temperatures expected to soar throughout the week. According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Austin-San Antonio office, overnight temperatures will remain in the low to upper 70s for most areas, with coastal and Rio Grande Plains regions experiencing lows in the 80s. Despite the increasing clouds tonight, the region will continue to endure hot and dry conditions for the next five days.

The NWS has issued a heat advisory for areas along and east of I-35, including San Antonio, where daytime highs will climb into the upper 90s to low 100s. The advisory warns of potential heat-related impacts through Friday, with the hottest days forecasted for Thursday and Friday. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms may offer some relief, particularly along the coastal plains on Tuesday, but residents are urged to take precautions against the heat.

As temperatures rise, residents are advised to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activities, and check on vulnerable populations. With no significant cooling in sight, the region must prepare for a challenging week ahead.
